10 Years of Ginger Love & Care

Garrison, Percival, Alfie, Nevan & Crumbly Dan have turned ten. Can you believe it's been a whole decade since The Gingerbrood was released?

The creation of these cookies, their world, and their subsequent adventures has been such fun. With more projects in the works (and dreams so grand that I'm hesitant to talk about 'em), I'd like to think that The Gingerbrood is just getting started.

This past January, I had the opportunity to travel to Finnish Lapland, on the Arctic Circle. What a Christmas wonderland! While there, I took the opportunity to meet Santa himself. I told him about The Gingerbrood and mentioned I was in Lapland to get ideas for future stories.

His response was obvious, but rather profound. "Look around!" he said.

I can still hear his voice, resonant and sincere. Indeed, there are stories all around us!

I came home from Finland with more ideas than I can handle any time soon. I'm having a blast developing more products and stories featuring the best batch of cookies you'll ever meet.

I'm excited to share that we will be releasing a sequel to Cookies and Colors later this year. This upcoming board book, titled Cookies and Counting, will extend the educational enjoyment as the Gingerbrood help Bixler, Santa's Head of Inventory, count various toys and treats to be placed on Santa's sleigh.

On a lengthy flight to Hawaii last fall, I pulled out my notebook and started scribbling. Eventually, the general layout of Cookies and Counting started to take shape. The book has been written and I'm currently working on the illustrations. So exciting.

As an independent author and publisher, it is tremendously helpful when folks share these stories organically with their friends. These books have been very well-recieved, but I would love to introduce many more readers to these stories! Think of the potential! We now have two signature storybooks (with read-along CDs), a board book, an activity book, Christmas ornaments, and another board book on the way!!

Could you help us spread the word about The Gingerbrood? I would be so grateful.
